The Bearded Colllie Club have 3 main trophies awarded annually for placings gained in conformation showing at UK Championship shows. These are the TAMBORA Trophy, The G O WILLISON Trophy and the ORORA Puppy Trophy. Over the years the way these trophies are calculated have changed and these are shown in the attached Points Table. The Tambora Trophy
This trophy is awarded annually to the Dog which gains the most points during the year. The trophy was presented to the Club by the now Mrs Jackie Tidmarsh of TAMBORA kennels (then Miss Vroome), in 1968.In 1980 Mrs Tidmarsh presented the Ch Edelweiss of Tambora Memorial Trophy for Runner up.The Dearbolt Trophy is awarded to the Breeder of the Tambora Trophy. The Ch Edelweiss of Tambora Memorial Trophy has been missing since the early 1980's.
The Diotima Trophy
This new trophy is awarded annually to the runner-up to the Tambora winner which gains the most points during the year. The trophy was presented to the Club in 2007 by Steve and Marian Appleby of Diotima kennels.
The Willison Junior Points Trophy
In 1979 The Willison Junior Points Trophy was donated in memory of our Late Patron, Mr. G. O. Willison, by members and friends of The Bearded Collie Club. The winner to collect points between 6 months and 18 months. To be awarded in the year the dog reaches 18 months of age. Points are collated for a full year, from 6 months to 18 months of age.The points are calculated as for the Tambora Trophy
The ORORA Puppy Trophy
In 1977 the Orora Puppy Points Trophy was donated by Miss B. Harcourt-Brown. This was originally for wins in Breed Classes at Ch. shows and Bearded Collie Club Open Shows between 6 months and 12 months on the day of the show. In 1979 this was changed to wins in Minor Puppy and Puppy Classes at all Championship and Breed Club Open Shows.In 1985 this was changed to wins at Championship Shows.In 1978 Miss Anne Wilding donated the Bendale Challenge Cup awarded to the Runner Up.
The Ch. Bravo of Bothkennar Stud Dog Salver and Ch. Blue Bonnie of Bothkennar Brood Bitch Salver
Both awarded for:- The number of progeny gaining CC’s over the year, each dog or bitch to be counted once only. In the event of there being a draw the number of progeny gaining Rcc’s to be taken into account, again each dog or bitch only counting once. If that fails to split take the higher no of BOBs.
Veteran of the Year and Annual Trophies
Points are awarded to dogs and bitches entering Veteran classes at any of the three Bearded Collie Club shows each year (two Open Shows and one Championship Show) as follows: 1st - 3 points, 2nd - 2 points, 3rd - 1 point. The dog or bitch with the most points wins the trophies.
