Bearded Collie Club Fun Obedience Classes
Judge: Halina Kochanowski(Thornsky)
Many thanks to the Bearded Colllie Club Committee for the invitation to judge this show. It is good to see new competitors prepared to have a go at these fun classes. Apologies to the lady who missed the stays - we did search for you but, not knowing whether you intended to work, we went ahead when we could not find you. Sorry.
Starters (6, 1)
Stays played a vital part in this class with those that were solid in this exercise coming out on top
1st - Richards' Wildan's Dark Sky at Elemark - A bit wide and distracted in the heelwork but a full points recall and clear stays clinched this win. Well done.
2nd - Dumbrell's Brodaty Limited Edition at Bethlyntee - Lively heelwork with marks lost for jumping up and circling around at the halts. Nice recall though, and all-important clear stays!
3rd - Rivers' Orora's French Silk at Merrimak - A bit unsure at the start but worked very steadily. I would suggest going a bit faster as most marks were lost for her hanging back at turns - have confidence that she will stay with you. Full points recall but unfortunately broke the down stay relegating her to this position.
4th - Bevis's Ramsgrove Sunshine at Beabeardies - A bit giddy at the start but settled to do really nice heelwork with a consistent position. Such a shame about the stays. Do persevere with her - try practising stays on lead in a variety of settings to build her confidence and I'm sure she will go on to do well.
5th - Griffiths' Nellbrook Its a Mystery at Whizzbomb - Most heelwork marks were lost for tight lead but Luka didn't really have his head in gear today - very distracted by all that was going on around him. Good recall but again stays took a heavy toll.
Triers (2, 0)
1st - Buswell's Corimist Soul Legend of Scotesham - Nice flowing heelwork and good recall. Well done.
2nd - Griffiths' Nellbrook Its a Mystery at Whizzbomb - Same remarks as in the previous class - a shame as I'm sure he can do better when he concentrates. Not his day today.
Hopefuls (2, 1)
A big step up in the complexity of the exercises in this class.
1st - Buswell's Corimist Soul Legend of Scotesham - A bit erratic on heelwork though coped well with changes of pace. Nice recall but distracted on retrieve - demonstrated he could do all the elements of the exercise but a bit untidy putting it all together. Clear stays. Well done.
